ABOUT
The Best Western Plus Kootenai River Inn Casino & Spa is owned and operated by the Kootenai Tribe of Idaho.

HISTORY
Since the opening of the hotel, restaurant, and recreation center in 1986, Kootenai River Inn has been an economic resurgence and source of pride for the Kootenai Tribe. The tribal roots have influenced and inspired every development and improvement project of the Kootenai River Inn, starting with its location on the tribal lands overlooking the Kootenai River and Selkirk Cabinet mountain range.
In 1993, the Kootenai Tribe signed a gaming compact with the State of Idaho, and the first casino room opened in 1995. The Casino sparked a source of revenue for the tribe and became a popular gathering place for the Bonners Ferry community.

RENOVATIONS
Best Western Plus Kootenai River Inn has received many upgrades and changes over the years. A complete renovation in 2005 added a luxury spa and transformed the interior to include river rocks and flowing water to tell the story of their tribal roots. In May of 2013, The Kootenai Tribe, led by Tribal Chair Jennifer Porter, authorized an even bigger investment with the construction of Kootenai Falls Lodge, a 36 Guest room expansion with oversized rooms. Over the years, the Kootenai Tribe and team at Kootenai River Inn upgraded the Spa, Ktunaxa room, and more.
