Tribal Finance Director

Job Summary:

The Finance Director has primary responsibility for ensuring the financial integrity of the Tribal government organization by recommending, implementing, and enforcing sound fiscal management policies and procedures. The Finance Director trains and supervises the Finance Staff to operate fiscal management systems and serves as the Tribe’s principal liaison with external organizations concerning financial accountability.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directs the Tribe’s accounting and financial management activities, as well as its fiscal relationships department directors, funding agencies, financial institutions, the IRS, creditors, and vendors.
  • Coordinates with the CFO to develop and recommend fiscal management policies for Tribal Council approval. Establishes and maintains accounting and financial management systems and procedures, including those related to treasury, planning, budgeting, cash flow management, payroll, purchasing/procurement, property management, risk management/insurance, taxes and internal controls; coordinates audits.
  • Develops internal auditing functions to meet audit requirements; develops and implements strategies for limiting financial liability and risk exposure; develops and maintains essential computerized/electronic financial management systems.
  • Trains, supervises, evaluates and coordinates the work of Finance Department who perform the full range of accounting and financial management functions of the Tribe (ex; bank account reconciliations, cash deposits and receipts, contract management, payroll processing, procurement/purchasing, travel arrangements, loans, advances, reimbursements and insurance claims processing, manages employee benefits including 401k and personnel insurances.).
  • Works cooperatively with the Tribal Council, CFO, Department Directors, Program Managers, and Enterprise Managers to develop and implement sound plans, budgets and financial management systems for the delivery of high- quality, cost-effective services to the Tribal membership.
  • Assesses the financial condition of the Kootenai Tribe and makes quarterly financial/operating reports to the Tribal Council; provides monthly financial reports to Department Directors and Program Managers and works with them to ensure accurate record keeping by fund.
  • Assists preparation of annual indirect cost proposal and negotiates rate with the Department of the Interior.
  • Prepares fixed asset and depreciation schedules.
  • Prepares annual statement of federal expenditures report making sure that all funds are reconciled to the report. Follow up on any grants that should be closed out by the end of that fiscal year.
  • Creates Request for Proposal (RFP) for audit services. Evaluates proposals and makes a recommendation to the Tribal Council.
  • Ensures that all items on the external auditors check list are completed prior to the auditors arriving to complete fieldwork.
  • Shall be available for local and out of the area travel as required for job related training. Shall attend all required meetings and functions as requested.
  • Other position related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Other Requirements:

  • Must support the Kootenai Tribe’s vision, mission, and core values; desire and ability to support and advocate for tribal rights.
  • Must possess bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field and five years management-level experience in accounting/financial management with three years’ experience managing governmental fund accounting systems or equivalent combination of education experience, CPA preferred.
  • Ability to manage time well and work under stressful conditions.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to read, analyze and interpret common technical journals, financial reports and legal documents; ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from regulatory and funding agencies, creditors and vendors, and members of the Tribal staff and community; ability to communicate effectively with governing boards and members of the management team regarding financial management issues and financial condition of the Tribe.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), federal compact, contract and grant management procedures and OMB Circulars and other regulations governing financial management practices of Tribal governments.
  • Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and communicate findings and conclusions to Tribal Council. 
  • Demonstrated abilities to both initiate and follow through on complex financial management tasks, manage time well, meet deadlines and respond effectively to sometimes frustrating and unforeseeable complications in the performance of assigned duties.

Job Summary:

  • Must be in good physical condition and be able to work on their feet for extended periods of time, in a fast paced, sometime stressful environment. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. On a regular basis. Must demonstrate proper safe lifting techniques at all times.

  • Must lead kitchen team members in areas of sanitation to meet or exceed Panhandle Health District standards of food sanitation and food safety.
  • Must demonstrate a communication style that is firm but fair when dealing with team members, quick to solve guest problems in a friendly manner, consistently calm and helpful when communicating with service staff.
  • Must have own and available on shift a complete set of kitchen knives and tools as described by management.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Must oversee all areas of the kitchen and make sure that all team members are ready to serve the needs of our Guests.
  • Assist and assume responsibility for meeting all budgeted costs in the restaurant…. Food, labor, non-food supplies, and supplies general.
  • Train and mentor all kitchen staff.
  • Assist in performance evaluations in a timely manner so that payroll has them two weeks before effective date.
  • Assist in the input of invoice tracking for food and non-food invoices.
  • Assist in menu development for menu items, specials, etc.
  • Keep office clean and organized.
  • Make sure all walk-ins and freezers are cleaned and organized daily and that all stock is put away.
  • Purchasing of all products.
  • Enforce established hotel policies and procedures by our team members.
  • Keep recipes updated and available to our cooks.
  • Make sure menu items and specials are costed properly.
  • Keep order guides updated.
  • Keep employee information updated.
  • Become proficient in working all stations in the kitchen.
  • Take active role in labor management by scheduling according to business levels, and sending team member’s home when necessary.
  • Take a daily role in conducting line checks to ensure that all products and prep are prepared correctly and are fresh.
  • MBWA – Manage by Walking Around.
  • Make sure all banquet functions are handled smoothly.
  • Work closely with Springs restaurant management to insure quality product for both the dining room and banquets.

  • Assist in keeping up with current pricing on our inventories. 
  • Make sure that all transfers are accounted for.
  • Must follow all plating and presentations with all appropriate garnishes and components.
  • Checks banquet sheets to check and prep for upcoming BEO’s, and STM’s.
  • Adjust prep levels to meet the demands of the restaurant.
  • Make sure the dish team completes the daily cleaning list.

Essential Requirements:

Gaming Floor Technician

Requirements:

Gaming Floor Supervisor

Job Duties:

  • Assist in day-to-day operations of the casino floor.
  • Participate in dual entry for machine calls.
  • Technical machine calls.
  • Verifying of lockouts.
  • Money escorts when security is not available.
  • Cashing gaming machine tickets when needed.
  • Assist as needed at Player's Club desk.
  • Troubleshoot information technology challenges.

Security Officer

We are looking for a fun and talented Security Officer to join our team in this fun, full-time role. Hourly wage is dependent on experience. Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety/security of Guests, employees, and property.
  • Ensure policies/procedures as directed by management.
  • Without bias, accurately and document shift activities on a surveillance log.

  • Report any accidents, illnesses, or safety hazards observed to Security and/or the Manager on Duty. Must be able to see and remember the specific details of incidents and the persons involved in any incident you observe and then log it in the surveillance log.
  • Must be able to write detailed reports.
  • May have to give court testimony if necessary.
  • Safeguard all confidential information.
  • Operate all surveillance equipment, including, but not limited to: digital/analog recording devices, monitors, switches, computers, controllers, managers, NVR's, radios, telephones, and cameras as assigned or needed.
  • After training, must be able to replace malfunctioning cameras, replace/repair malfunctioning equipment, troubleshoot and if possible repair or correct surveillance system problems.
  • Must be able to respond calmly and rationally to any incidents involving guests/employees, system problems, and other demands in a fast-paced environment.
