Sous Chef

We are seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and creativity, along with strong leadership skills to assist in the management of our kitchen operations.

Duties:
- Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management and food production
- Oversee food preparation and ensure high-quality dishes are served
- Manage inventory control and ordering to maintain stock levels
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training as needed
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in food handling and storage
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create new menu items and specials
- Support in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment

Skills:
- Proven experience in kitchen management and food preparation
- Strong inventory management skills to control costs and minimize waste
- Excellent knowledge of food handling procedures and sanitation regulations
- Ability to lead a team effectively with strong communication skills
- Experience in fine dining or upscale restaurant settings is preferred

Front Desk Clerk and/or Night Audit

Front Desk Clerk Responsibilities:

  • Reception duties including greeting Guests
  • Handle multiple phone lines and phone calls
  • Check in and out approximately 101 guest rooms per day
  • Have the ability to multi-task
  • Capable of sitting and/or standing for long periods of time
  • Great communication skills between Guests and team members
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and hear English
  • Must possess good cognitive skills in the areas of problem solving and reasoning to assist in addressing a wide variety of Guest requests
  • Demonstrate respect, sensitivity and concern for Guest needs with a professional and pleasant manner
  •  Must have good corrected vision to see a computer screen and verify data entries
  •  Must be able to use both hands for heavy amount of phone, filing and typing
  •  May have to lift up to 25 pounds
  •  Must have basic math skills and money handling — be able to settle and refund payments
  •  While a Uniform is provided, a neat, crisp professional office appearance is essential

Vault Teller

Verifies till going on and coming off the gaming floor, balances the vault, and prepares tax forms for gaming winners.

Basic requirements

  1. Must possess basic computer skills
  2. Work flexible hours

  4. Pass a background and credit check as required by the NIGC
  5. Must be 18 years of age or older
  6. Experience with a ten key calculator a plus
  7. Count tills efficiently and accurately

Licensed Massage Therapist

Help Guests at The Kootenai Day Spa feel their very best! At our Spa, your expertise and skills will be appreciated by the team at our Day Spa and our Guests! We are urgently seeking a licensed massage therapist to start immediately.

Massage Therapist Responsibilities:

  • Help Guests feel relaxed with a variety of massage techniques, lasting from 30 minutes to 75 minutes
  • Perform a variety of massage techniques, including Swedish, deep tissue massage, sports, stress relief, trigger point, prenatal, aromatherapy, hot stone, and body-treatments.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication during treatment
  • Ensure safety regulations and protocols are followed
  • Must be proficient at a variety of massage techniques and types, such as Swedish, deep tissue massage, sports, stress relief, trigger point, prenatal, aromatherapy, hot stone, and body-treatments.
  • Hold an Idaho Massage License
  • Customer service skills and/or experience

Spa Nail Technician

Are nails your passion? Help our Guests with their tips and toes as a Nail Technician at the Kootenai River Inn Day Spa!

Nail Technician Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nail services to Guests
  • Offer Spa, Express, and Gel Express manicure and pedicure services to Guests
  • Apply acrylic full sets, fills, and nail repairs to Guests
  • Apply polish, gel polish, and top coats for Guests
  • Apply polish and gel polish changes and removals
  • Ensure safety regulations and protocol are followed
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication during treatment

Nail Technician Qualifications

  • Valid Idaho Nail Technician License
  • Ability to meet daily responsibilities outlined above
  • Must have friendly customer service skills and experience
  • Ability to meet reasonable nail art requests from Guests
  • Reliable transportation

Gaming Floor Technician

Requirements:

Must be able to pass a background check, both credit and criminal and obtain and maintain a gaming license-must be 18 years of age-adhere fully to all uniform and personal hygiene requirements as per employee manual- comply with Kootenai Casino policies and procedures

Essential functions:

  • Maintain the gaming machines, cleaning, stocking paper
  • Pushing in chairs as needed, assisting casino housekeeper as needed

Requirements:

  • Use of computer to cash tickets, process and cash checks
  • Work with a large sums of money, count and exchange money, exchange canadian currency, cashing gaming tickets.

Security Officer

We are looking for a fun and talented Security Officer to join our team in this fun, full-time role. Hourly wage is dependent on experience. Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety/security of Guests, employees, and property.
  • Ensure policies/procedures as directed by management.
  • Without bias, accurately and document shift activities on a surveillance log.
  • Follow all policies and procedures while constantly striving to improve all standards of operation.
  • Strive to meet or exceed productivity standards.Observe the action of the casino & bingo operations, accounting areas, cashier cages, hotel, and other designated Kootenai River Inn Casino and Spa areas.
  • Observe the performance of team members in regards to customer relations and adherence to the Team Member manual.
  • Monitor personnel procedures in designated areas to ensure they comply with N.I.G.C. regulations.
  • Report immediately any abnormal activity that requires prompt action to your Supervisor, Security, as well as the Manager on Duty.
  • Report any accidents, illnesses, or safety hazards observed to Security and/or the Manager on Duty. Must be able to see and remember the specific details of incidents and the persons involved in any incident you observe and then log it in the surveillance log.
  • Must be able to write detailed reports.
  • May have to give court testimony if necessary.
  • Safeguard all confidential information.
  • Operate all surveillance equipment, including, but not limited to: digital/analog recording devices, monitors, switches, computers, controllers, managers, NVR's, radios, telephones, and cameras as assigned or needed.
  • After training, must be able to replace malfunctioning cameras, replace/repair malfunctioning equipment, troubleshoot and if possible repair or correct surveillance system problems.
  • Must be able to respond calmly and rationally to any incidents involving guests/employees, system problems, and other demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to interact with law enforcement personnel in a clear and concise manner.

  • Cleans sinks, the dishwashing machines, and other equipment and reports any malfunctions promptly to the supervisor
